Revant Reddy destroyed TDP in TS, Madhavaram charges

The Kukatpalli MLA, Madhavaram Krishna Rao, who was elected on the TDP ticket and defected to the ruling TRS, on Saturday made the sensational charge that it was on account of Revant Reddy, TDP working president in Telangana, that the TDP unit was destroyed. Speaking to newsmen in his constitutency, Krishna Rao charged that Revant Reddy was interested in self-aggrandisement and that this created problems to other TDP MLAs in Telangana. The TDP working president was inciting people for his own ends, he added. The Kukatpalli MLA said Revant Reddy did not deserve any special police protection. It maybe recalled that Revant had approached the Telangana High Court seeking protection by Central forces, as he did not have faith in the TRS government or its police. He said he had been getting threatening calls. Krishna Rao also questioned as to how the TDP, which was born out of opposition to the Congress, could now opt out of the Palair by-election where Roads and Buildings Minister Tummala Nageshwar Rao is contesting.
