You can never understand our pain, AP MP tells Rajya Sabha

You can never understand our pain. Stating this Congress MP JD Seelam lashed out at his party colleague Jairam Ramesh in the Rajya Sabha on Friday. JD Seelam particularly pointed out that the then government (the Congress) did not take into account the problems that the State would be facing as voiced by the MPs belonging to the State. Jairam Ramesh objected to this. Seelam rubbed it in by saying Jairam Ramesh came into the picture at the drafting stage of the Bill. The Andhra MP demanded that the Centre had to subsidise the revenue loss that AP was suffering from. The lack of provisions in this regard was highly regrettable. The word given by the Centre about filling the revenue loss and miserably going back on its word was highly deplorable. In this background, the Central and State governments were saying one thing and doing the opposite, never bothering about the needs of the newly carved state. The Congress MP pointed out that for capital Amaravati the Centre had given precious little. The Central government was only giving some small funds here and there and claiming to be doing a great favour.
