Harish Rao in Bangalore for talks on Rajolibanda
Telangana Ministers' team led by Major Irrigation Minister T. Harish Rao just arrived in Bangalore on Thursday to start talks with the Karnataka irrigation authorities on the diversion of the Rajolibanda scheme for the benefit of the farmers in Mahbubnagar district.
The team comprising Harish Rao, Jupally Krishna Rao and Laxma Reddy will be talking to Karnataka Minister MB Patil from 11 a.m.
While under the Rajolibanda diversion scheme, Telangana is entitled to 15.9 tmc of water, this State is not even getting 5 to 6 tmc water, with the farmers putting up blocks in the river on the Karantaka side.
Neither the works on the canals have been completed. Against this background, the Telangana ministers are expected to persuade their Karnataka counterparts to release the water due to Telangana so the works could be completed in time.
