TRS speeded up Sagar canal works, says Harish Rao

Telangana Major Irrigation Minister Tanneru Harish Rao claimed on Wednesday that it was the TRS government that had speeded up the Nagarjunasagar canal works so as to reach waters to Nalgonda and Khammam districts. The works could not be completed by the previous Congress government in 7 years. But the TRS took just 1 year to complete the works for the benefit of the people of Nalgonda and Khammam. Harish said he had toured the canal works along with Ministers Tummala Nageshwara Rao and Jagdish Reddy over 2 days. Their visit helped to speed up the works. He said Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao's powerpoint presentation on water projects in the State Assembly was avidly seen by the entire country. He pointed out that it was KCR's dream to irrigate 10 million acres in Telangana. It was significant that KCR showed keen interest in his nephew, Harish Rao's speech at the plenary that opened at Cherukuri gardens in Khammam.
