Two Nageshwar Raos with TDP roots to enter Palair fray

Two Nageshwar Raos, leaders with TDP roots, will be fighting the Palair byelection in Khammam district. They are Tummala Nageshwar Rao, Roads and Buildings Minister in the TRS government in Telangana, and Nama Nageshwar Rao, former MP. The crucial meeting to field Nama Nageshwar Rao by the TDP is underway in Vijayawada. Telangana TDP president L. Ramana, and regional working president, Revant Reddy, have already reached Vijayawada to hold talks with AP Chief Minister and TDP president, Chandrababu Naidu, in this regard. Nama will be fighting Tummala in Palair despite the norm that only the deceased family member should be unanimously elected. After the Telangana Public Accounts Copmmittee Chairman, Ramreddy Venkatredddy, had passed away, the Congress had appealed for a unanimous election in Palair. But the ruling TRS had defied the norm. As a result, an election had to be conducted in the Palair bypoll. Regional Congress working president Bhatti Vikramarka had sought a unanimous election, warning that otherwise the opposition would unite and fight the ruling TRS candidate. However, now, with Nama entering the fray, it will be a three-cornered one. If the Congress also fields its candidate, which is very likely, it will become a multi-cornered fight. Tummala is a strong candidate, and he has already said he will hands down in Palair.
