Amaravati registers two spurious liquor deaths
The new Andhra capital of Amaravati is becoming notorious for one reason or other. The latest shadow on the AP capital is adulterated liquor deaths on Thursday. Two people succumbed to spurious liquor in Manugodu mandal there.
The people had purchased the liquor from a belt shop at Manugodu. Two of them had succumbed. The dead have been identified as Neelaiah and Katamraju.
In the capital region comprising Guntur and Vijayawada, adulterated liquor deaths are a yearly feature. In Vijayawada, the former Congress MLA, Malladi Vishnu's family is running Swarna Bar, where five people had succumbed to adulterated liquor last year. Both Malladi Vishnu and his brother had been jailed in connection with the five deaths and 25 others suffering severe ailments on account of spurious liquor sold in the bar.
