From humble beginnings, he struggled in life and completed his post-graduation in Sri Venkateswara University. He became a minister in the Congress government. After N.T. Rama Rao stormed to power in 1983, for some time Chandrababu looked after TDP affairs before becoming the Chief Minister. Chandrababu was the youngest minister at 28, and also the longest serving Chief Minister.
