Manuguru registers 50 degrees Centigrade as heat wave sweeps Telangana
Manuguru in Khammam district registered the highest temperature of 50 degrees Centigrade in Telangana at 2.30 am on Wednesday.
People were afraid to come out of their houses in Manuguru, and the town wore a deserted look. Owing to the coal mines in the area, the temperatures are generally high. But the fact that 50 degrees Centigrade was reached in the early summer itself is adding to people's woes.
The health authorities have warned the people not to stir out of their houses if they had no particular work.
A heat wave across most of India and hotter than usual temperatures have been forecast for India. Already dozens of deaths have been reported in Telangana owing to sun stroke.
Bhubaneshwar in Orissa registered 45.8 degrees Centigrade on Monday last.
