Delhi Metro bars masks
Masks will not be allowed on Delhi Metro. This decision was taken by Delhi Metro officials after the recent Metro robbery in which masked men decamped with Rs 12 lakh cash at Rajendra Place Metro station.
The Metro said those with masks or whose faces are covered by surgical mask, muffler, or women's dupatta would not be allowed into Metro stations.
The decision followed a review of the Rajendra Place Metro robbery. The Metro said those entering the stations would have to remove the mask, even if it is women's dupatta at the time of the checking. All the faces will have to be incorporated in the Metro cameras.
The only exemption is provided for those with severe pain or those suffering an ailment.
As most of the girls are wearing scarfs and dupatta to cover their faces these days, they may come up with objections, which have not been taken into account by the Metro.
