Tricolour treated as red flag by Kashmiris in NIT students' clash

The National Tricolour is at the centre of the ongoing strife between the non-local students of the National Institute of Technology, Srinagar, and the Kashmiri students studying in the NIT. The outstation NIT students frequently display the Tricolour and this is treated as provocation by the Kashmiris who wish to be mollycoddled for everything. Backing them up are separatists and terrorists. The rootcause of the current NIT trouble came out in the open when the Union Home Ministry team visited the NIT, when the non-locals told the team that the local police had seized their Tricolour and they wanted it back. Deputy Chief Minister Nirmal Singh is backing the students as far as the return of the Tricolour is concerned, but he is objecting to its display in times of crisis such as the present one. In social media, the hoisting of the Tribolour by non-local students went viral. It was only a paper flag. But the local police seized it when the clashes took place over the result of the India-West Indies cricket semi-final. What a contrast that the students of Central Universities, JNU and HCU, are championing the convicted traitors and the technology students are clashing over the Tricolour. Bravo NIT Srinagar!
