Bomb goes off as murder accused Chintu is brought to court

A bomb explosion in the Chittoor court premises injured three people and destroyed three vehicles on Thursday, when the accused in the Mayor Kathari Anuradha and her husband, Kathari Mohan, murder case, Chintu, who was the kin of the family, was brought to a hearing in connection with the murder case. Chintu, who was with the police at that time, escaped unhurt. The bomb is believed to have been detonated in the protocol vehicle in the court premises. The accused had been presented to the court 15 to 20 times in the last 3 months, when the Mayor's murder took place in her office along with that of her husband. Chintu's opponents did a recce and placed the bomb, but Chintu was nowhere near it. For some time after the murder, Chintu had eluded the police, while the other accused were caught. Chintu is a nephew of Anuradha.
