While Roja looks to courts, Privileges Panel sends another notice

Even as YCP leader R.K. Roja has been biding for time to get her case against suspension by the Andhra Pradesh Assembly heard by the courts, the State Assembly Secretary, on behalf of the House, has been sending her summons to appear before the Privileges Committee. The Committee had already summoned her five times, but each time she had stated her inability to appear on the grounds of health. Besides, already, a couple of days ago she had asked for a fortnight's time to appear before the committee. Regardless the committee issued the current summons to her to appear before the committee on April 6. Roja is perhaps looking for the Supreme Court taking up the issue soon. The committee was of the view that she had not taken their summonses seriously anyway, so she should be given a fresh opportunity. Hence she was given a fresh notice to appear before the committee.
