The Supreme Court bench hearing the Mallya case did not agree with counsel. Justice Kurien Joseph and Justice Rohinton F. Nariman hearing the case ruled that the media, which is concerned about the safety of the polity, could write stories about Vijay Mallya over the bank loans. There is nothing wrong about the media version. Vijay Mallya is known to have held two teleconferences with the consortium of banks awaiting thousands of crores of rupees repayments. The Supreme Court bench was told about the teleconferencing. The bankers who silently gave away thousands of crores of loans to Vijay Mallya have maintained pindrop silence about the teleconferencing they have had with Mallya lest the media come to know more about their shady deals.
