KCR lashes out at Jana, Akbaruddin over OU, HCU varsity tensions

The Congress and Muslim Ittehadul Muslimeen members in the Telangana Assembly on Saturday repeatedly surrounded the Speaker's podium and demanded a discussion on the rising tension in the Osmania and Hyderabad Central universities. As the House resumed after the adjournment, Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao said the opposition parties had to follow the rules in raising discussions. They could not demand a discussion against the rules. He lashed out at Congress leader K. Jana Reddy and Akbaruddin Owaisi in this regard. He told them the government knew how to deal with such situation. While his party agreed to the discussion, it would not brook recklessness, KCR added. Despite the Chief Minister's intervention, the Congress and MIM members surrounded the Speaker podium for the third time. Padma Devender Reddy, who was in the Chair, adjourned the House once again. Earlier, the opposition had alleged that the police attacked Congress MLA Sampath's car in Osmania University and arrested students of Hyderabad Central University were beaten up.
