IndiGo air receives bomb threat

A bomb threat was received for the ten Indigo flights between Srinagar and Delhi on Wednesday. The call was received at the indiGo call centre in Chennai that there was a bomb on the Delhi-Srinagar flight. As a precautionary measure, the flight 6E 853 was allowed to land on the special runway at the Delhi Indira Gandhi International Airport by the airport authorities on Wednesday afternoon. Passengers were allowed to disembark and their baggage was thoroughly checked. The blasts at the Brussels airport had already alerted the authorities all over the country. In the wake of the alert, IndiGo received the bomb threat. The Brussels' blasts took place in the departure lounge and the nearby Metro station, indicating that the baggage had not been checked. Normally the door leading to the departure lounge is also capable of metal detection. In the event, Brussels airport missed the crucial profiling that may have prevented the blasts.
