Chain snatchers target Indian women in US

Indian women are the target of chain snatchers in the US, too. Of the 13 cases of chain-snatching that occurred in Freemont, 11 were those of women of Indian origin. Indian women wear chains priced anywhere between $300 and $3000. Chain snatchers find the chains handy, says Geneva Bosqus of the Freemont Police. She suggests that the women should keep the gold chains concealed under their clothes. But then the charm of gold is to show off. What if the gold is sewn into the cloth used by women? In any case, chains should not cost the women their life. In the incident that happened opposite the Law College on the OU campus, the chain of a woman sitting pillion on a scooter was pulled off. She fell from the scooter and had died.
