Disappointed Roja starts sit-in at Assembly gate

R.K. Roja, YCP leader, who came in a hurry to attend the AP State Assembly session on Saturday morning, was greatly disappointed that her entry was barred despite the High Court allowing her to attend the session on Thursday itself. The Assembly session was, however, barred for her since Thursday evening, when she received the court order allowing her to attend the Assembly session. She was allowed into the assembly premises on Friday, but not allowed into the House. The same was the case on Saturday also, when she rushed to the assembly without breakfast and was stopped at the main gate. As a result, Roja became weak within minutes of staging a sit-in at the Assembly main gate. She asked for a blanket and spread it on the pavement and dozed on it owing to lack of breakfast and unkindness of the suspension for a period of 1 year. While Roja had said that her faith in the Rule of Law was reinvigorated, the turn of events in the House have been dampening her spirit. Roja's party colleague, Giddi Eshwari, is with the disappointed leader. It appears she is converting her disappointment into a satyagraha. The House itself was adjourned for the day on account of the YCP black shirts surrounding the podium. Speaker Kodela Sivprasad Rao adjourned the House to meet again on Monday. Would Roja continue her sit-in remains to be seen. If she does, it will be satyagraha.
