Roja blocked from attending AP House, HC bench to hear her rejection on Monday

RK Roja, YCP leader, was not allowed into the AP State Assembly on Friday despite the Andhra Prdesh High Court Special Bench setting aside the House resolution suspending her from the House for a period of one year. Roja had already presented the court's interim order on Thursday itself, when she was told to come at 9 am on Friday. When she went accordingly on Friday morning, she was not allowed into the House. Roja wanted to hark back to the court, but the House did not give her the necessary acknowledgement. As a result, the YCP member's fate still hanged in the balance. The High Court Division Bench would be taking up the rejection of Roja from the House on Monday, it is learnt. The communication in this regard was sent to the Assembly Secretary on Friday morning. In the House, however, the YCP members staged a walkout in protest against the lack of entry to their party colleague, Roja. The YCP members from the both the Houses also staged a dharna at the assembly premises. There was tension in the air around the AP Assembly. The TDP Minister, Peethala Sujatha, on the contrary, approached the Speaker, Kodela Sivaprasad Rao, demanding action against Roja for her alleged remarks against the weaker sections as member of the House. Roja was suspended under Section 193 of the House Rules for her intemperate language against the Chief Minister, Chandrababu Naidu, in the Assembly. When Peethala Sujatha tried to intervene and come to the aid of the Chief Minister, the YCP member is alleged to have used unparliamentary language against her, too. Roja and her party are considering appealing to Governor ESL Narasimhan in the matter.
