Jagan demands Tribal Advisory Board
Jaganmohan Reddy, YCP leader in the State Assembly, on Thursday demanded the constitution of the Girijan Advisory Board. He charged that although 2 years had passed, the Girijan Board had not been constituted.
Jagan alleged that the board was not being constituted since six of the seven Girijan constituencies in the State had YCP MLAs.
Jagan made the demand when the issue arose during Question Hour in the State Assembly.
The leader of the Opposition said for any decision on the Girijans the constitution of the board was necessary. He demanded the immediate constitution of the Tribals Advisory Committee.
There were many tourist spots in the Girijan areas in North Coastal Andhra, which need to be developed.
There were many Girijan youth who needed to be provided with jobs.
Girijans have a special place in the Andhra polity because of their role in the freedom struggle. Former Chief Minister NT Rama Rao donned the role of Alluri Sitarama Raju, who led the tribals in the freedom movement.
