AP should have got Rs 5 lakh cr as against Rs 10000 cr from Centre: Tulsi Reddy

Congress leader Tulsi Reddy regretted on Saturday that laws made in Parliament carried no weight. Noting that Special Status for Andhra Pradesh was a constitutional provision made in the AP Reorganisation Act, Tulsi Reddy said under Special Status AP should have received as much as Rs 5 lakh crore from the Centre. But AP had so far received only Rs 10,000 crore even after three budgets were presented. Tulsi Reddy was angry that the Centre had left behind such a big backlog. He was on the train for `Delhi chalo' to demand Special Status for Andhra Pradesh along with PCC president Raghuveera Reddy and other leaders. Why have the Congress in general and Tulsi Reddy and others in particular been so silent so far? When their party had brought about the split in the State against stiff opposition, it is for them to get the Special Status and funds backlog, if they are sincere.
