People are my gods, Balakrishna repeats NTR's punchline with effect

`People are my gods,' NTR used to say. This punchline earned the then Chief Minister encore in terms of power. Although the TDP is back in power, the punchline is missing. The roles are reversed. Now the leaders are gods. Against the backdrop, NTR's son, Tollywood Star Balakrishna, re-echoing his father's punchlines, `Society is the temple, people are my gods' is earning him lots of patronage in Balaiah's Constituency of Hindupur and beyond. Balakrishna recently organised Lepakshi celebrtations with official patronage, when the punchline was invoked. Also in Rayalaseema, Balakrishna started the Mahashivaratri celebrations at the temple town of Kalahasti, reinvoking the punchline. This is making the people to look forward to Achche Din (good days of NTR), when the revolutionary Rs 2 a kilo rice was introduced, leaving people with funds to spend on other essentials. At Kalahasti, the Tollywood Star eulogised the Vedas which, he said, were the root of modern telecommunications. He also said it was a blessing that he had the honour to start the Mahashivaratri celebrations at Kalahasti.
