Change Dharmasala venue for Indo-Pak T20 tie, says Congress

The proposed T20 match between India and Pakistan at Dharmasala in Himachal on March 19 has taken unusual political colour. While the Congress leadership is giving outright support to seditious students of Jawaharlal Nehru University, the party unit in Himachal is quoting the scriptures to say the match would be unpatriotic if held at Dharmasala. It would hit the spirit of martyrdom of Kargil heroes, as the statues of Captain Batra and Capt Saurabh Kalia were not far from the cricket stadium there. The HP Congress unit alleged that they saw the hand of Anurag Thakur, BJP MP and Board of Control of Cricket in India secretary, for assigning the T20 match to Dharmasala. Because of statues of the martyrs, they do not want the Indo-Pak tie to be staged in Himachal. The president of the HP Congress unit, Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu, has urged the BCCI to change the venue of the Indo-Pak tie from Dharmasala this one time. The Congress continues to play games with the polity.
