Indian Manager released by Nigerian tribals

An Indian, Ayisetty Venkata Pavan Kumar, who was working with a palmoil firm in Nigeria and kidnapped by a Nigerian tribal group, has been released, according to his family sources. Pavan Kumar belongs to Kandukur in Prakasam district. On February 20, Pavan rang up his family to say that he was in `difficulties'. If they did not hear from him for 2 days, they should ring up the telephone number given in his comapny email. The family rang up the number for the next two days, but did not get any response. The family realized that Pavan was kidnapped, because voodoo and kidnaps are common for extortion in Nigeria. The family subsequently learnt that Pavan was kidnapped. They approached the External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj. Pavan's uncle then talked to the media about the kidnap. Later in the day, the family learnt that Pavan had been released and that he was fine.
