Pak team prepares for Pathankot visit
Pakistan, which has filed an FIR in connection with the Pathankot terror attack in Gujranwala barring the main accused Jaishe chief Muhammad Azhar, is seeking to send an investigation team to the airbase to probe the incident in March.
This was revealed to `Dawn' by a senior secretary in the Pakistan establishment.
Speaking from capital Islamabad, the Secretary said the dates remained to be finalized.
The FIR was filed by Pakistan after many details linking the terrorists who stormed the airbase and their handlers in Pakistan had been handed over to Islamabad. Azhar's name was dropped at the last minute by the official.
Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar had already made it clear that there was no question of allowing a Pakistani delegation to visit the airbase at Pathankot or any defence establishment.
Pakistan was expected to investigate the matters at its end thoroughly. So far it had failed to do anything on terror attacks emanating from Pakistan.
The world has chided Pakistan for its `good terrorists' and `bad terrorists' policy. It should, therefore, do much more to acquire bona fides in the matter of terrorism. It cannot play the judge while being the culprit.
