3 terrorists occupy institute in South Kashmir

At least three terrorists stormed a multi-storey training institute, Entrepreneurship Development Institute (EDI), in South Kashmir's Pampore area on Saturday evening, witnesses reported. According to the witnesses, some 100 people, including trainees and their trainers, remain trapped. Reports suggest that at least three persons were spotted in the four-storey EDI building in the Sempora area, 16 km away from Srinagar, around 4 p.m. "We were asked by the militants to clear the building. We were around 100 trainees and trainers there. We have shifted to nearby hostel building but remain trapped as firing is on," Ishfaq Mir, an EDI employee told newsmen. "Three to four employees are still trapped in the building," said Mir. However, another report suggests many more remain trapped in the building. A CRPF camp is situated close to the EDI building and is believed to be the target of the terrorists. The encounter site is on the Srinagar-Jammu National Highway and reinforcements have been dispatched.
