JNU Union president gets beating at Patiala Court
Jawarlal Nehru Central University Studetns Union President, Kanhaiya Kumar, who was on the run facing the anti-national slogans charge, was on Wednesday badly bruised in a stampede while he was being presented before the Patiala House court. The court again witnessed tension as JNU students arrived at the court premises in strength. Some 200 lawyers are alleged to have attacked the JNU Students Union President, shouting slogans of `shoot him, kill him' while giving a hammering. Police proverbially stood mute spectators to the outlandish happenings. The lawyers are believed to have found an opportunity in the stampede that followed the entry of the student leader into the court premises. The lawyers allegedly were satisfied with their action. Netizens have uploaded the pictures of the stampede. Kanhaiya Kumar is facing charges of sedition for holding anti-India meetings and raising slogans on the campus.
