Police seal OU campus to prevent student clashes

The intolerance debate in the Indian universities has started sowing dissensions among students. The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad has faced the flak for doing the right thing by protesting against eulogising of rank traitors such as Afzal Guru and Yakub Memon. On Tuesday, the ABVP students of Osmania University took out a flag march on the campus. The police moved in immediately and closed the gates at both the ends of the university to prevent a possible clash between the ABVP and leftist students. It's sad that left-oriented students are finding no constructive cause to fight for and taking up that of rank traitors such as Afzal Guru and Yakub Memon. Heros of India such as Olympian gold medal winner Yogeshwar Dutt are meanwhile wondering what is wrong with our higher education that our students hanker after antiheros.
