TRS Bhupal Reddy wins Narayankhed byelection

The ruling TRS in Telangana secured the Narayankhed Assembly byelection by a massive mejority of over 54,000 votes over the Congress. Bhupal Reddy of the TRS defeated his Congress rival Sanjiva Reddy and Vijayapal Reddy of the TDP. The Narayankhed byelection was caused by the death of Sanjiva Reddy's father Kista Reddy. But the Congress could not secure the sympathy vote owing to the growing support for the TRS. The byelection campaign was spearheaded by Minister T. Harish Rao. If IT Minister K. Taraka Ramarao secured the majority for the party in the Greater Hyderabad Municiapl Corporation elections, it was Harish Rao who proved his mettle in Narayankhed, which is part of his native Medak district. Thus the extended family of Chef Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao is making waves in Telangana.
