`Modi, Modi' Ram Nam in 2014, says Paresh

Bollywood character actor and BJP MP Paresh Raval has compared Prime Minister Narendra Modi with Purushottam Ram. Like the stones with Rama's name were used to build the Ramsethu to Lanka, it was `Modi, Modi' by voters that launched the BJP to absolute power in the 2014 General Elections. Regarding growing intolerance in the country, the Bollywood comedian wondered how leaders who were surrounded by bodyguards and moved about in expensive cars at public expense could gauge alleged intolerance, meaning they were already alienated from the masses. Participating in a function of Nirma University in Ahmedabad, the actor said film industry awards were given away on account of lobbying. Likewise the award-wapsi (return of the Sahitya Akademi and other Central awards) programme was a bogus one. Those intellectuals could just not digest the rise of the Modi wave. The voting public, on the other hand, chanted `Modi, Modi.'
