T. Jagruti attacks Dattatreya's house

Telangana Jagruti activists on Tuesday attacked the residence of Union Minister Bandaru Dattatreya at Ramnagar in Hyderabad on Tuesday, demanding that he take responsibility for the suicide by the HCU Dalit scholar Rohith Vemula. The Jagruti activists rasied slogans against the Union minister. The police arrived on the scene and tried to disperse the crowds. The reluctant Jagruti activists got into an argument with the police amidst pushing by both sides. As a result, tension has gripped the area. The activists have got into the act because of the reverberations being felt in various parts of the country following Rohith's suicide. On Monday, students in Delhi similarly staged a demonstration in front of Union Human Resources Minister Smriti Irani. The students are charging that it was Dattatreya's letter to the Centre that was instrumental for the suspension of the five students in Hyderabad, including Rohith.
