Bangalore Varsity faces gender bender

Bangalore University is faced with a gender bender! Two students are completing their PhD programmes in the university's girls-only Maharani's College for Women. Not only that they are doing PhD in the Home Science unit of Maharani's College. Their Department is called VHD Central Institute of Home Science. Now the university is wondering how such gender bender could have occurred without anyone's noticing it. The men joined the women's institute through entrance exams in 2012 and 2013, respectively. That they were selected through the entrance exam was not conveyed to the University. So the University Registrar claims it was not their fault. The query currently is how are the two men doing their higher studies in the Women-only College? The University Syndicate took up the issue. Not just coming and going of the men, what should be done with them now? Everything is as per records. The men were admitted through entrance. Who is to blame then? The university authorities are however in no position to explain who is responsible for this gender bender. The college on its part says it will okay the men's courses after the varsity approves of them. The men argue that they passed the entrance and they got into the women's college. No fault of theirs. C.S. Sivakumar, studying for 3 years in the women's college, believes he will be able to complete his PhD. The Syndicate is to meet in the New Year to take a decision on the issue.
