Priests urge Chandrababu to perform yagams like KCR

Hyderabad, Dec 26: If priests have their way, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu could in all probability perform yagams just like what his Telangana counterpart K Chandrasekhar Rao is currently performing at his farm house in Medak district. A host of priests and astrologers in AP are said to have recommended special yagams for the AP government. The idea is to speed up the construction of the capital city Amaravati and setting up of a hurdle-free administration there. Several priests are believed to have given the following reasoning: “As per the Puranas, Lord Indra, whose capital was Amaravati, had also performed such yagams before building the city.” According to sources, Kanchipeetam Asthana Siddhanthi and AP government’s agama adviser, L. Subramanya Siddhanti, are reported to have said that Lord Indra had also constructed his capital Amaravati after conducting the Rajyasyamala Sahitha Kubera Samputita Paasupatha Yagam. It is believed that astrologer Karuparthi Nagamalleswara Rao, who is the personal astrologer for actor and TDP MLA Nandamuri Balakrishna, that the government should conduct Mahasudarsanam and Rani Chandika Yagams for completing the capital city works without any financial hurdles. Is Chandrababu listening?
