Gadkari panel prescribes AC cabins for lorry drivers

The Transport Authority panel, headed by Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, has recommended AC cabins for bus and lorry drivers to reduce the near 5-lakh road accidents by half. The panel believes that making AC cabins compulsory for bus and lorry drivers would drastically bring down the 150,000 fatal accidents and 300,000 injuries in road mishaps, the panel believed. The Gadkari panel is of the view that a comfortable cabin will enable the lorry dirvers to drive better because of less pressure on them. Speaking at the Indian Road Congress, Gadkari made the announcement that the road accidents would be reduced by half with this measure.
