AP Assembly Speaker reveals his razor's edge duty

Andhra Pradesh Assembly Speaker Kodela Sivaprasad Rao has revealed that the Chair's position is on a razor's edge while running the House. What with the opposition disrupting the proceedings at every turn during this winter session, the House has become another name for the Tower of Babel. This is causing him quite a lot of concern and consternation. Talking to the media while participating in a programme, Kodela said he was adjourning the House only when it became unavoidable. Declaring that daily House disruption will affect the people and parties, he appealed to the opposition and ruling parties to cooperate in the matter. Regarding YCP leader Roja's suspension, Kodela said her sloganeering was such that it would put anybody to shame, leave alone unparliamentary language. Besides, it was because of her repeated lampooning of the House leader that the decision to suspend her for one year was taken. Her suspension was in order on the basis of rules of the House, he added.
