Jagan seeks CBI probe into bauxite mining
YSR Congress leader Jaganmohan Reddy on Tuesday sought a probe by the Central Bureau of Investigation into the bauxite-mining issue.
Referring to the attempt to murder case filed against YSR MLA Giddi Eshwari, Jagan said the cause for the case was a mere emotional outburst by Eshwari. She had only said Chandrababu should be beheaded in anger. That does not warrant the filing of an attempt to murder case against her.
If that were so, why should not a similar case be filed against Chandrababu himself? Naidu had once remarked, referring to former Chief Minister YS Rajasekhar Reddy, `If at all you step into the State Assembly again..." Two days later YSR lost his life. Is that remark liable for filing an attempt to murder? Jagan wondered.
Stating that every small issue was being blown out of proportion, the YSR leader said that false cases were being filed against all leaders who were simply questioning the Chief Minister on developmental issues. Similarly, a case was filed against YSR MP Mithun Reddy because he had a brush with airport officials.
On the other hand, ruling TDP leaders such as Chintamaneni Prabhakar were getting away despite allegedly indulging in criminal activities.
Specifically in the bauxite mining issue, Chandrababu was siding with TDP leaders who were neck deep in bribery. In the call money racket also, TDP leaders were getting away and no cases were being filed against them.
Jagan sought the intervention of AP Governor Narasimhan in all these issues.
