All services to cost more as AP decides to slap user charges

Hyderabad, Nov 30: All services, including those of private establishments, are expected to cost more in Andhra Pradesh very soon as the state government is said to have decided to slap user charges. With this, all services in the state including that of treatment in a private hospital and purchase of a cup of tea from a local hotel are expected to cost more very soon. Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu is said to have approved the finance department's proposal to levy user charges on all private organisations. The proposal is believed to have been conceived by Principal Secretary (Finance) PV Ramesh. The government is now in the process of preparing plans to levy 1 per cent user charge, which could fetch at least Rs 2,000 crore revenue to the government. However, the cabinet is yet to finalise the percentage to be levied.
