Chandrababu tells TDP MPs to demand Centre funds for Polavaram
Hyderabad, Nov 24: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu told Telugu Desam Party MPs to demand the central government to immediately reimburse Rs.2,218 crore that was spent on Polavaram project during the Winter session of the parliament.
Chandrababu said, "The Central Government should either construct the Polavaram Project or grant the funds to the State Government."
Speaking to the media in Vijayawada this afternoon on his meeting with Telugu Desam party MPs at the CM's camp Office here on Tuesday, Union Minister of Science and Technology Y.Sujana Chowdary said a host of issues were discussed.
In addition to Special Category status, Chowdary said the MPs were told to stress on Special Package to AP, besides railway zone during the winter session.
Chowdary said the State Government is likely to release a white paper on sand and bauxite mining soon.
On the delay in sanctioning financial aid to AP, Chowdary said the State Government has submitted a preliminary report estimating the loss at Rs.3,000 crore and sought Rs.1,000 crore as advance.
