AP keen to integrate Amaravati metro with Thullur

Hyderabad, Nov 23: Andhra Pradesh government is said to have asked the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) to ensure the integration of Amaravati metro rail project with Thullur in Guntur district on priority basis, sources said. Officials are expected to take up a detailed survey for the integration process encompassing environmental, topographic, traffic potential and other factors once the government decides through which the third corridor should pass. The government is reported to be inclined to make the integration an extension of PNBS-Penamalur corridor. Amaravati Metro Rail Corporation (AMRC) DGM Panduranga Rao said the State Government conveyed its request to E Sreedharan, advisor for Vijayawada and Visakhapatnam metro railway projects. Meanwhile, the AMRC wants the state government to acquire 30 hectares of land for the project sites and the process is expected to be completed by March.
