ANU suspends three students for ragging

Hyderabad, Nov 23: Acharya Nagarjuna University on Sunday suspended three senior students following a complaint of ragging from first year students on Saturday. The complainants belonged to the university's Department of Architecture and Planning. The department's students are said to have complained to the in-charge Principal C. Rambabu and Registrar P. Raja Sekhar. In their complaint they claimed that seniors had called them to their hostel rooms and forced them to write notes and entertain them by singing songs. The ANU promptly suspended for an indefinite period the three senior students from the college and the hostel. The three students have been identified as Vinetheswar, Manju Sainath and Swetha. The university also suspended two other students, Manoj and Surendra, from the college for two months. Later, the university is said to have summoned the parents and issued orders in their presence.
