Bauxite mining: Ganta says only GO issued, next step yet to be taken

Hyderabad, Nov 12: Andhra Pradesh HRD Minister Ganta Srinivas Rao today said that the government has just issued a GO relaxing restriction on bauxite mining in the agency area of Visakhapatnam. The government has, however, not taken up any further step on this issue, he said. Ganta said bauxite mining actives have not yet been taken up in the agency area. Stating that the government has recognised the protest taken up by tribal against the bauxite mining, he said deep discussion will take place in the next cabinet meeting.
