Will conduct GHMC polls by Jan 31, TS to HC

Hyderabad, Nov 02: The Telangana government has informed the Hyderabad High Court that it would conduct elections to Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) by January 31. The court today accepted a petition filed by Centre for Good Governance seeking a directive to Telangana government to conduct the polls by December 15. The court directed the TS government to submit an affidavit stating that it would conduct the polls by January 31. The government attributed delay in conducting polls to linking Aadhar with voter ID cards and deciding boundaries of wards. It may be noted the the court earlier set deadline for government to conduct polls.
