Police chase, open fire on chain snatchers

Hyderabad, Nov 02: The Anti-Chain Snatching team police today opened fire on two bike-borne chain snatchers when they tried to snatch chain from an woman at Auto Nagar near Vanasthalipuram in Hyderabad. Taken aback by the sudden appearance of the police party, the chain snatchers sped away on bike. It is not known whether they were injured in firing or not. The police have launched a massive manhunt to traced the accused. Police are examining CCTV footage to identify the accused. Police said that the accused easily sped away as the area is located adjacent to a national highway. Police alerted all the hospitals in Hyderabad and neighbouring Nalgonda district to give information on persons with bullet injuries.
