Two TDP leaders threaten to quit posts

Guntur, Oct 29: Vexed with the 'indifferent attitude' of officials and Ministers, two TDP legislators from Guntur district threatened to quit their posts. The incident happened at a review meeting in Guntur yesterday. Narasaraopet TDP MP Rayapati Sambasiva Rao warned that he would quit if the officials continue to turn a Nelson's Eye to his repeated pleas for development works in the constituency. Carrying a bunch of paper related to pending approvals for drinking water projects in several Assembly seats that fall under his constituency, the six time MP went up to the dais where Agriculture Minister Prathipati Pulla Rao was presiding over the meeting. Pulla Rao and District Collector Kantilal Dande pacified Rayapati and assured that permission would be accorded to the works immediately. Senior TDP leader and Pedana MLA Kagita Venkat Rao threatened to resign if the government fails to release water to the paddy fields in his constituency. The MLA rued that his repeated pleas to Irrigation Minister Devineni Umamaheswara Rao have fallen on deaf years. I am awaiting response of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on the issue, after that I will take a decision on relinquishing MLA post, he said.
