KCR to announce Suryapet as dist headquarters by March next

Hyderabad, Oct 22: Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao today announced that before March next year Suryapet would be made the headquarters of a new district. Speaking after launching the TS government’s long awaited two-bedroom scheme at Suryapet, KCR said he would be returning to the town in about 15 days to resolve all the problems of the region. KCR said some of the issues to be taken up would include the ring road at Suryapet, and issuing of directives for the land pooling for setting up of a new district office. He also assured of bringing Krishna river water to Suryapet and development of Dindi lift irrigation project. He also said drinking water will be supplied to areas under Tungaturthi and Nutankal sector.
