Tension grips AP-Karnataka border as farmers clash over water

Anantapur, Oct 04: Tension continued on the Andhra Pradesh -Karnataka border at Agili in Anantapur district as farmers from both the states clashed over irrigation water. Karnataka farmers have announced that they would demolish a bund constructed across Suvarnamukhi river. Today a large numbers of Karnataka farmers arrived at the bund to demolish it. AP farmers who were present at the bund obstructed Karnataka farmers from demolishing the bund. Tension gripped the area as the farmers from both the states exchanged heated arguments and shoved each other. Large contingents of police were deployed in the area to prevent any untoward situation.
