Seven held for encroaching land of MLA's father

Visakhapatnam, Sep 29: Land prices have skyrocketed in Visakhapatnam after the bifurcation of the state. There is a sudden spurt in land encroachment cases in the city. Police yesterday arrested seven persons accused of grabbing the land of an MLA's father. MLA P Vishnu Kumar Raju's father P Satyanarayana Raju owns 38 cents of land at Kallivanipalem near Anandapuram in the city. The accused trespassed and occupied the property. The main accused Gudla Ramana obtained fraudulent General Power of Attorney (GPA) and registered both the plots of the MLA's father in his name. After completing fake registration, Ramana threatened the MLA's father and occupied the plot. On the basis of the complaint lodged by the MLA's father, police arrested Ramana and six others.
