Yanamala, officials discuss shifting of departments to Amaravati

Hyderabad, Sept 24: Andhra Pradesh Finance Minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu today met senior officials at the Secretariat to discuss the issue of relocation of various government department and employees to the state's new capital Amaravati. It may be recalled that the state government had formed a Government Officers Committee (GOC) to oversee the shifting of government department and employees. Principal secretary (Panchayat Raj) Jawahar Reddy heads the Committee, which has four other IAS officers as members. Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu is keen on shifting a significant number of government departments and IAS officers from Hyderabad to Vijayawada or areas nearby Amaravati.
