Pentagon constitutes India Rapid Reaction Cell

Washington, Sep 15: For the first time, Pentagon has constituted country special cell to expedite its defence ties with India to speed-up co-development and co-production of high-tech defence equipment. India Rapid Reaction Cell was constituted soon after Ashton Carter took charge as Pentagon Chief. The cell is headed by Keith Webster. India is the only country to have a specific cell of its kind in Pentagon. Seven persons representing various wings of US Department of Defence are working on the cell. According to reports, several people are exhibiting keen interest to work at the Pentagon's Indian Rapid Reaction Cell. India's Defence Minister Manohar Parikkar will soon visit Pentagon. It would usually take 1 year to 3 years to reach these type of agreements between Indian and US but this time the process was completed within three months.
