Agri Gold Scam: Elderly couple jumps into Krishna river, kill themselves

Vijayawada, Aug 25: The Agri Gold scam claimed two more lives in Vijayawada. According to Police, an elderly couple named Venkatanarayana Sharma and Sundari invested Rs 6 lakh in Agri Gold company. The couple deposited their entire lifetime savings in Agri Gold. But as the company defaulted on payments, the couple failed to provide cancer treatment to their son. Unable to undergo the mental agony the couple committed suicide. The couple jumped into Krishna river at Bhavanipuram in Vijayawada. Agri Gold submitted an affidavit on its properties in High Court yesterday but the depositors alleged that some properties in both the Telugu states were not mentioned in it.
