SL offers UK High Commissioner post to Sangakkara

Colombo, Aug 24: Sri Lanka President Maithripala Sirisena offered Sri Lanka High Commissioner post in United Kingdom to retired cricketer Kumara Sangakkara. Sirisena made this offer at a felicitation ceremony held at P Sara Oval Stadium here today. However, Sangakkara did not reply to this new offer. It may be noted that Sangakkara announced that he would retire from cricket after the second test match which was completed today.Sangakkara played for Sri Lanka for the past 15 years. Sri Lanka Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe, World Cup winning captain Arjuna Ranatunga, former India captain Sunil Gavaskar and others were present.
